Argentina’s president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner is a very active head of state – on Twitter. Its short, direct format seems to appeal to her, what should I say, erratic personality. She uses it to promote herself, criticize her opponents, and even publicize a letter she wrote to the Pope to congratulate him on the Day of the Pope. (Kirchner has embraced the former Cardinal Jorge Brogoglio now that he is Pope Francis, even though their relations were always tense before.)
